I love fruit, but I’m worried that I’m eating too much. My diet on an average day is usually like this:
For breakfast- an apple or a peach with a banana
Lunch- A Clif bar [an energy bar], and some more fruit (grapes or an apple, usually)
For dinner- a salad (lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, no dressing.) and two other kinds of vegetables.
I’ll some times snack on raisins through-out the day, or have a bowl of cheerios with unsweetened almond milk.
My question; am I eating too much fruit, and getting too much sugar?

Yikes! Where’s your protein at?

Sounds like you are getting the right amount of fruit and vegetables. (assuming you feel healthy … that is one of the best indicators of how good your diet is working for you)
I am a little curious how much protein, calcium, and grains you are getting from your energy bar and how many calories you are getting by the end of the day. Sounds to me like you are doing pretty good on fruits and veggies but a little low on the calories from protein, calcium, and grains. (which I know isn’t what you asked - but I’m giving my full opinion here)

Fruit does have alot of natural sugar…which is different than the sugar in candy & other sweets, but yes you are eating more than the recommended daily allowance. You are missing protein - you def need protein in your diet.

No. It’s not like you’re eating things contaminated with high fructose corn syrup. It’s all natural fruit. That’s where I get most of my sweet from. I also eat all-natural granola bars, too. And organic vanilla soy milk; or chocolate which is quite yummy.
Not only are you missing protein, but your whole grains seem to be lacking as well. However, your fruit and veggie intake is good. (I live in a house in which produce consumption by some members, not me, is rare. I don’t know how they live.)

Doesn’t sound like it. The FDA recommends 2-5 servings of fruit a day, depending on your activity level. It sounds like you are getting 3-4 servings of fruit each day. Your body processes sugars in fruits differently than how your body processes sucrose (sugar cane derived). Also, fruits have proven health benefits, such as vitamins and minerals, that aren’t present in other “sweet” snacks.
What the answer boils down to: If you are worried about it, keep a food journal for a few weeks and go see your doctor. Your doctor may want to check your blood glucose levels to see if your fruit intake is right for you. Your doctor should be able to give you some good advice on how much fruit you should be eating, or be able to refer you to a dietician.
