      Letting them cool is good.
Hold it in your hand, crack the sides a bit, hold the egg under cool water when peeling it.
I hope this works for you.

Your eggs are too fresh. Before you hard boil eggs, they should sit in your fridge for at least a week after you buy them from the grocery store.

what works for me is putting salt and a little vinagar in the water. Bring the water and eggs to a boil, then cover and turn off the heat and let sit for twenty min. or so then drain off the water and rinse with cold water. Leave eggs in pan and add ice to cover. Wait 1/2 hr or 45 mins. then crack and peel. Works everytime.

Oh, I am so happy I found this site one day to answer a similar question. Because my boiled egg always would be broken after peeled. But this trick is awesome:

Take a cool, hard boiled egg in your hand.
Strike the top and bottom of the egg on a hard surface just hard enough to crack the shell.
Gently but firmly roll the egg between your hand and a counter top until the shell is well cracked.
Remove the cracked shell from around the egg.
