Hey out there. I was a vegetarian for 4 years and have been a vegan for a few weeks (both times for ethical reasons), and I was wondering if I was like the only vegan/vegetarian to question global cooling/warming/climate change. Two things:
1.) YES, I HAVE watched Al Gore's movie
2.) PLEASE, no bashing on here OK guys?!? I just want to know if there are other like minded people, I'm not on here to be called a cruel idiot or other such riddiculus thing, and neither is anyone else, so PLEASE just keep it to yourself.

for me global warming is still a theory.. its not like this 'warming' hasnt happend before.

edit: of course i realize that the climate is warmer now but im not sure if i believe that humans are the reason behind it.

just wondering…..are you skeptical that global climate change is occuring, or just skeptical that humans are the driving force behind it?

to the person above me- yes, this has happened before….the planet does go through periods of warming and cooling. that doesn't mean it's not something to worry about. global climate change could have a serious effect on human life (not to mention plants and animals) and could even make life unsustainable.

EDIT- i don't believe that humans are entirely the cause….i'm sure some global warming would be occuring without our help anyway. i definitely believe that no matter how much global warming was going on without us there is much, much more as a result of the actions of humans.

Um, yeah… the evidence that supports climate change is empirical and scientifically valid.

Having your own opinions and ideas is all fine and well, but to flat-out deny the facts surrounding this issue (which is ushering the human race into certain extinction by our own hands) is somewhat closed-minded and naive.

First, please realize that there's more to global warming than Al Gore's movie. Like the fact that 99.9% of scientists who study climate change agree that YES global warming is happening and YES it's largely due to our carbon consumption.

I'm of the "question authority" mindset, but in this case the "authority" to question is the "experts" who deny that global warming is happening and it is human caused.

I'm not a vegan/vegetarian, but I'm not sure if global warming is all caused by humans. We could be a part of it, but the Earth has many climate changes on it's own. Plus, it is a fact that Mars is also heating up a little, so this could just be a phase of the sun that's causing the planet to warm up a bit. Well, that's my opinion on this :)

I'm quite sure that spewing tons and tons of carbon into the air makes global warming incredibly worse.

Let's not believe in what the oil companies would like us to.

You do understand that money controls global politics, not human interest?
