I know if you leave eggs for a week or so and then hard boil them they’ll peel easily, but what if you’re using fresh layed eggs? They crumble and I end up losing half the whites stuck to the shell and it gets very messy. Any ideas for better peeling techniques for fresh layed hard boiled eggs?

Week old eggs are better but if you choose to hard boil fresh ones try putting some vegetable oil in the water when you boil them. It seems to help make the shell come off a lot easier than without.

I put a small splash of vinegar in the water when I boil them. Then rinse in fresh cold water when finished. I peel immediately, so the egg inside doesn’t have a chance to cool completely.

Add 2 tablespoons white vinegar to every quart of water you use to boil the eggs.
