Yes, most of the usual popular fast food chains are in other countries and they make the exact same food.

Yes, many fast foods have set up in other countries. McDonald's is well known, even in China. It is not a dumb question.

Yes! I'm an American who's been living in England now for the last 3 years, and there certainly are American style restaurants. Of course, just like our "ethnic" restaurants, they cater to the local taste. So you can go to a 50's style diner here and totally get a burger and milk shake and rootbeer float, but they'll also serve Shepherd's Pie and bangers and mash (sausages with mashed potatoes and gravey). In London there are loads of American style bars and things where they have American memorabelia (Harley Bikes are a big thing). Again, some things will have a full American flavor, while others are made for the locals to enjoy.

I've seen McDonalds, Starbucks, KFC, Tony Romas, and Outback in Hong Kong. In Chile, I've seen McDonalds (french fries are called "Mc Papas"), Starbucks, and TGI Fridays. Canada has a lot of American companies there since they are just next door. …Yep these are still considered American (and foreign) restaurants in those countries.

First of all McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and Pizza Hut are EVERYWHERE.
But yes you often see specialist themed American restaurants but they tend to theme themselves around a particular aspect of American cooking. I have seen plenty of places specialising in Tex Mex. Others with Southern themes specializing in Fried Chicken, shrimp, gumbo etc. Steak houses around the world often carry American themes and some pizza joints brand themselves American rather than Italian.

This is very interesting and funny too:
In India: McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, TGIF
They selll the same stuff mostly but more Indianized: no beef and no pork. Huge vegetarian choices.
So McD's is lamb or chicken. That right: Big Mac is a Maharaja Burger made eith veg or with lamb.

I dont know what the original 11 herbs & spices are at KFC, but in India they add red chili powder & a little garam masala. It's also a sit down restaurant with tablecloths & waiters!
Pizza Hut also makes "Indianized" spiced up versions of pizza like "Tikka Paneer Makhani" pizza!

TGIFs in India makes Indian dishes in addition of a menu that will sell to an Indian market.

These restaurants are considered to be very very $$ by Indian standards. The avg person cant afford to eat there. They are considered high end in India.

In Sweden, you can find both american fast food (McDonalds, Pizza Hut. Burger King etc, but no KFC)
and also table serving places like Hard rock cafe, TGI Friday.
There are also other local "steak houses", what people would call "american style restaurant".
Here, people would probably call steak, burgers etc as American food.
