My dog doesn't like eating her dog food. She waits until shes really hungry and realizes that shes not gonna get anything else so she eats it. We think she is lacking nutrition and so we feed her pasta or rice with beef and veggies. Is that okay for a dog to eat? My friend says that she had a dog who died from eating pasta. Is that possible?

Pasta is fine but as with all table scraps, it should not be more than 10% of a dogs diet. Here is a list of all the foods you shouldn't feed your dog and the reasons why.

I don't think it can kill them. But it's certainly not healthy. You may need to take hr to the vet and check and make sure she doesn't have worms. But stick with dog food. Try buying a different dog food brand.

You can give your dog anything, as long as she is also on a regular diet of dog food, also make sure it is a little nibble, and that it is not part of her daily meal. In other words, you can give her human food only occasionally

I give my dogs pasta when we dont finish our food. It wont hurt her.. you can buy dog vitamins. Or.. try getting the doggie gravy for dry food or just give her canned food mixed with her reg food. Hope that hepls. But ya shes fine

Yes, a dog dieing from eating too much pasta is possible. If your dog does not like eating and dog food then I suggest that you do a little research and make your own recipe. Make sure there's enough meat, not that muck pasta or grain (less than 10%), vegetables and there should at least be a little bit of fruit. Dogs are naturaly carniverous and need meat as well as nutrients from fruits and vegetables.
When feeding her human food, make sure theres not too much spice. They can really hurt a dogs digestive system as well as onions. When you feed her pasta or rice with beef and veggies, it should be something like this: 1/4 pasta or rice, 1/4 veggies and 1/2 beef. If she really ignores dog food and just wants human food, i suggest that you get her dog vitamins. That way, she has all of the nutrients she needs.
I hope I was able to help. =)
