Can I steep a coffee pod?

October 23rd, 2008 · 3 Comments

So I’m going camping this weekend, and I accidentally bought some coffee pods (the ones for use in pod-specific coffee makers) instead of the 1-cup instant coffee bag things (like tea bags, but coffee). My question is, if I simply steep the coffee pod in hot water, as if it were a tea bag, will it result in a decent cup of coffee? Thanks!
For the record, the answer is no. It's horrible!!

That is a very good question! I would think so…does that paper the pod is made of look like a same paper they use for tea bags? You can always call the number on the box and ask them! Or just try one out before you go, if it doesn’t work I guess it’s back to the store!
