Well i have been vegetarian for 8 months and am slowly turning vegan. No one in my family is vegetarian, but my boyfriend is vegan. My family didnt really get it at first but now they are all really supportive. Im not going to convince you to become vegetarian, its your own chioce, its much healthier, but its your decision in the end.

Nobody can really convince you to do what you might want to do.

If you want to make a life changing decision - it is up to YOU, not us.

    Lol. i find this a funny Q:

no one can convice youu to change. You kind of just have too really want to become a vegetarian. TRUST me. its reallyy extremly hard, you have to have the will power to doo it. and you Yourself, really have too want to make the change.

its hard when people are around you eat meat and your use too eating meat, but if you are trying too be a vegetarian, you’ll probally even sneak it BUT, remember your only cheating and lying too yourself.

but if you find tht you really want too doo it then thats Great, we could always use some vegetarians in the world ! what would it hurt. Do it for yourself though and not because of some other foolish reason.

**andd btw, theree areee tooonneees of reasons not to eat meat**. =D good luck, on trying too becomee a vegetarian.. but being a vegan is much harder lol.

It isn’t up to others to convince you of anything. If you want to change your life it’s up to you. And changing your life in a way that reduces suffering, environmental destruction and your carbon footprint while improving your health and karma doesn’t sound silly at all.

The following sites will provide information and motivation:

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine has a Vegetarian Starter Kit which should answer most nutritional questions- (so you’ll know what to say when someone asks “But where do you get your protein?”)

VegSource is a great site for information, advice, etc.-

Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, not around the eyes, into my eyes.
    your under.
YOU WILL NEVER EAT MEAT AGAIN!!!
NO ANIMAL PRODUCE WILL PASS YOUR LIPS!!
    STEP AWAY FROM THE STEAK!!
    CARROTS ARE YUMMY!!
    MEAT IS MURDER!!!
3…..2……1 your back in the room!!!
Now if only someone can convince me to stop smoking and to leave the biscuits alone …………

Here would be my nummber one reason to be a vegetarian again:
    1. If done correctly it is a healthier diet.
    2. You are not limited to produce only. Many vegetarians eat dairy and eggs, some don’t.
    3. Its a great excuse to buy the cashiews you love instead of that pound of ground bugar!
    4. I didn’t gain weight being a vegetarian and now days that I am eating meat again I am gaining weight!
***Some people will try to tell you that eating vegetarian is
    1. Kind to the earth and to the animals.
    2. That eating dead animals is gross.
*****I will say this: If you have an unsuccessful time being a vegetarian at least get yourself familiar with the Old Testament biblical dietary and follow those. The guide lines that are set forth there take away the scavangers out of the diet of meat!

Well what is making you want to be avegetarian? Animal wise? Health? Environment?

Being a vegetarian helps all three.

Animal wise - thousands/millions of animals are slaughtered each day for their food. How would you feel if you were raised in a gross, dilapitated environment and then shoved into a cage and brought to wait in line for your death? Not to mention that they feed the animals, majority of the time, bone/animal meal. Which is grounded up left over dead decaying animal parts.

Health wise. You are always told to eat your vegetables when you were little. Thats because they provide vitamins and minerals that you need. Eating too much meat can raise blood pressure and cholesterol which causes heart attacks and strokes.

Environment: Factory farming is the leading cause of deforestion. They must expand their farming areas to accomadate the countries growing population that eats meat. Over grazing is the problem. Not to mention that methane is the second leading green house gas that is destroying the ozone and causing global warming. Also, if not properally stored the cattle feces ends up getting into water streams causing toxic pollution of our water, which in 3rd world countries is a big problem.

There is no need to eat meat when you can get everything from plants. Don’t plants have feelings too? No they don’t. They don’t have a nervous system or feel any pain. But also if some want to argue that they do. At least you are cutting back on eating only one thing that is suffering, plants rather than animals AND plants.

I think you would have to come to that decision on your own.

I could sit here and share with you all the information that I know about the slaughter process, factory farms and their impact on the environment, health risks involved with eating a lot of meat and so on, but that won’t convert you unless vegetarianism is actually on your heart.

Each person has their own reason or combination of reasons for going veg in the first place. What might convince one may not be the convincing factor for you.

It’s not a silly change to make. You apparently feel compelled to consider it; might I suggest you do some more research on your own? I don’t mean surfing the Internet. You’ll find millions of contradictory statements and studies. Visit your local library and find some books about vegetarianism and “alternative” dietary lifestyles. The books might give you some good insight on the benefits of the diet and might even wake something within you that makes the option “click”.

    Good luck!
