I have been a vegetarian now for four years and am very proud of the fact that I haven’t touched meat. But, since I am allergic to nuts, and peanut butter i don’t get a lot of protein in my system, so I “heard” that vegetarians can eat fish.
is that true? i haven’t done it.

It depends on what they decide is right or wrong really. Quite a few I know do eat fish.

well, that wouldn’t be a vegetarian. that would be a pescetarian- which means you are a vegetarian but with the except that you eat seafood.

Yes you ;havce different kinds of vegans, and you can be still
fully vegan and eat fish. So go ahead.

Vegetarians can eat anything, including meat. It’s all a matter of choice. Fish are not vegetables. Lentils are. You might want to inspect the menu at an Indian restaurant for ideas.

Well, they can eat beans and nuts and eggs (I THINK, not so sure…), but… fish are ANIMALS… and the point of being a vegetarian is not eating any animals…
So, I’m guessing that they CAN’T eat fishes…

The whole point of vegetarianism is to not eat living animals because of it’s cruelty.
Fish are a living creature, so eating fish would just be like eating beef or pork.

Vegetarians who eat fish are called Pescetarians. Some people will say you are not a vegetarian if you eat seafood. But really, it is up to you what you eat, you can avoid land animals and still be a person who does not eat meat. while eating fish. What other people think and say is not that important.

-Drink soy/rice/almond/hemp/etc milk. They all have protein in them
-Eat tofu and things with tofu in it. Soy is high in protein.
-Eat beans, soy beans, baked beans, all kinds of beans have protein.
-Leafy green vegetables like spinach are high in protein and so is brocoli. if you don’t like spinach raw (like me) cook it in with something else like I do.
You can eat fish if you want but you would be considered a pescatarian, not a complete vegetarian.

If you eat fish, you are a pescetarian, not a vegetarian.

No.
Has your doctor told you that you are lacking in protein?
Why do you think you have a protein deficiency?
All food has protein.
You don't need to get hogwashed about complete (bs) protein as 75% of the your body's protein is recycled.
You will not find a protein deficiency in the western world.
And…too much animal protein can lead to problems. For example osteoporosis.

That depends on what YOU decide.
You should be a vegetarian for your own reasons, not just so that you can say you’re a vegetarian. If YOU decide that your values allow you to eat fish - then you eat fish.
I personally don’t eat most meat because I don’t support the way it was raised. I find that eating meat that was harvested as wild animals is acceptable for me because the animal enjoyed freedom and lived a life without fear right up until it was harvested. I also will only eat meat that is produced/harvested in sustainable ways for the environment.
I personally use Monterey Bay Aquariums Seafood guide to help me make my seafood decisions - they are a sane and well educated group who can give objective opinions as to what seafood is harvested and/or raised in a sustainable way.

Yes. Most of the world’s vegetarians enjoy fish and seafood. They are called pescetarians.

Vegetarians don’t, pescatarians do. There’s only one difference in the diets which is eating fish or not eating fish.
