I've been wondering this. If I have eaten gelatin, am I still a vegetarian?!
Well, I'm not a vegan, I still eat animal bi-products. I thought just vegans didn't eat gelatin.

No. If the animal has to die before you can get it, then it's not vegetarian. That's the easiest way to tell. ;)

Gelatine is extracted from the collagen inside animals' connective tissue.

I will leave you to make up your mind!

this depends. i don't eat meat because i don't like the taste of it. i still eat animal products and gelatin is an animal product. but i'm still a vegetarian i just don't eat poultry, pork, or beef. i eat seafood and animal products, cheese, milk, eggs etc.

No. A vegetarian does not eat things made from dead animals.

betsy is not a vegetarian for example. She eats fish and fish are dead animals.

i think i see why you're confused about this.
      vegans don't eat animal bi-products.
vegetarians don't eat animal SLAUGHTER bi-products.

vegans don't eat animal bi-products of any kind, whether it requires the death of the animal or not. vegetarians should not eat anything that is the result of an animal's death.

animals have to die for gelatin to be produced, so gelatin is not vegetarian. i hope that helps =)

Gelatin is 100% animal product. All the leftover , garbage and sewer of slaughterhouses are put in a big vessel in boiling water. The soft extract of this slaughterhouse remains is henceforth known as gelatin.

      By product of human cruelty.

No, they shouldn't eat gelatin. If you have eaten it mistakenly,it's not the end of the world, just make sure you check your labels, especially where chewing gum and sweets are concerned.
