Chocolate treats for dogs?

But they're made with Carob and not real chocolate. Are they really safe for dogs?

Also, has anybody ever given them to their dogs and did your dogs like them?

They have yogurt drops that look like Hershey's Kisses that I have given to my dog. They like them, but like any treat, they should be fed in moderation.

Carob is safe for dogs. Mine would rather have treats flavored with peanut butter over carob, once in a while they get carob treats from the local doggy bakery, but they definitely aren't their favorites.

My shih tzu looooves his carob and peanut butter bars :) I make them at home..

2 cups of all purpose unbleached flower
      1/2 cup of apple juice
      a handful of chopped carob
      and smooth peanut butter

mix well, form into flat disks and bake 10 to 15 minutes in an oven at 350 degrees.. cool and serve :)

I have a doggy cook book and there are chocolate cakes and all sorts of chocolate treats in it for dogs and they love them! Although, you don't use "real" chocolate, carob is the ingredient used throughout the book. It is safe! I have 2 dogs, one 60lbs, the other 135lbs and both are fine after eating these treats =]
