could i use ranch dressing on crab pasta salad?

I want to make a killer delicious pasta salad that's not made with the usual Italian...

small penne pasta, broccoli, shredded carrots, celery, tomatoes, two packages of imitation...

I don't have any sauce on hand and cannot go to the store... i have ranch and ceasar...

I want to take my sweetheart on a picnic and when I think of a picnic I think gourmet...

I'm having a pasta salad right now but but I didn't put any dressing ( oil,...

I live in San Antonio, TX and at the Wal Mart Deli they have different salads and there is...

I just had some pasta salad and it didn't taste right and it was mushy i had my mom...

I think so. Ranch dressing is good on just about anything.

I think it would be good! Go for it. Ranch is great in pasta salad..any kind of pasta salad.

You could, but crab has a very delicate flavor and the ranch dressing would probably overpower it. Try this instead:

tablespoon shallot, minced
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
lots fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Combine all and mix well

If you do, I'd use very little of it …..It's a heavier dressing and you'd be smothering the flavor of the crab. I'd prefer a light vignarette dressing …..(and, please, NO cheese on crab)
