I think so. Ranch dressing is good on just about anything.

I think it would be good! Go for it. Ranch is great in pasta salad..any kind of pasta salad.

You could, but crab has a very delicate flavor and the ranch dressing would probably overpower it. Try this instead:
tablespoon shallot, minced 1/3 cup mayonnaise 1 1/2 tablespoons red wine vinegar 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard lots fresh ground black pepper, to taste
Combine all and mix well

If you do, I'd use very little of it …..It's a heavier dressing and you'd be smothering the flavor of the crab. I'd prefer a light vignarette dressing …..(and, please, NO cheese on crab)
