needs and desires? *Please don't take me too seriously. I know that evolution occurs according to changes in the environment and all, not due to what we would like.

Do you think *God gave us the gift of a vast array of foods so that we wouldn't be bored, instead of just giving us one superfoodplant that could provide all the nutrients we need?

And for those who believe in evolution/abiogenesis, do you think in due time, new fruits and veggies will begin to grow on Earth? Do you happen to know off hand, what the youngest fruit that came into existence is?

Eventually if we don't change 'em first, yes, our fruit will evolve!

Plus we like fruit cause its what we eat and therefor yummy!

Of course new fruits will come along.
As far as I know from my second grade teacher, there aren't many plants in our era that were around with the dinosaurs.

I believe God has controlled evolution so yes he has provided us with many foods' now men are creating new plants and fruit but God is watching over all.

We definitely developed color vision because of our love of fruits and vegetables. Predators see only in black and white. Birds and bees, on the other hand, can see even more color than we can.

I love God's ways. They are intriguing.
      I believe in both.

The youngest fruit? probably the grape. (excluding grasses) Some say the fig or the olive.

I don't like man made fruits and vegetables.

I think plants evolved to fit their environment. Some of them happen to be digestable by our guts. As for the new fruits, yes, plants are adapting all the time just as animals are. I don't know for certain what the "newest" fruit is. I haven't been to unoccupied places on earth frequently enough to follow the evolution of exotic plants. On the other hand, we have been altering foods quiet well recently. I'm sure there are some new hybrid creations out there.

we have been breeding fruits and veggie vastly improving them for hundreds of yrs

the reason there are so many different fruits is its the best way for the plant to spread it seeds

all plants use sugar to build themselves, some are digestible some are not for humans but all planets are sugar
