Does anyone have a recipe for a meatball with a boiled egg inside?

I remember my Grandmother making these when I was a kid. I thought she said they were Swedish Meatballs, but none of the recipes on the search engine include the egg. These were basically huge meatballs that had a whole (shelled) boiled egg inside. I'm sure there was a trick to making the meatball stickier, or it'd fall off the egg.
Ok, by shelled, I meant de-shelled - like shelled peanuts are the ones out of the shell. OK, now I'm confusing myself.

There is no egg shell in the recipe :)

i had some the other day but, the egg wasnt shelled.

I think that you have to have:
      eggs
      ground meat
rice or oatmeal to make them kind of expand (no a lot)
and i think that you put a little bit of tomatoe sauce in it
      salt
      diced onion and garlic

and then you mix it all together. Except for the egg.
you make a meat ball and kind of form it in the shape of a tortilla and wrap it around the egg. and then just boil it.

Well first you boil the egg for ten minutes not before it starts boiling and hard water pressure. next, you start the meatballs. cook them semi-hollow. next if you're meatballs aren't fully cooked leave the eggs boiling. if you're eggs are ready before the meatballs you can also stick the egg inside the meatball and mould the me meat around. thats how its done.

I believe you're talking about Scotch Eggs. My brother in-law's mom makes these every Christmas (she's British).
      Here's a recipe
      6 hard-cooked eggs, well chilled
      1 pound breakfast sausage
      1/2 cup flour
      2 eggs, beaten
      3/4 cup fine bread crumbs
      Vegetable oil for frying

Peel eggs and set aside. Divide sausage into 6 portions. Roll each egg in flour and with hands press a portion of the sausage around each egg.

Dip sausage-wrapped eggs into beaten eggs and roll in bread crumbs. Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cook each egg in oil about 4-5 minutes or until sausage is cooked and browned. Drain on paper toweling. Serve warm.

They would be Scottish Eggs! Swedish is something else.
Hard-boiled eggs are cooked first then cooled.
The meat coating is sausage meat & breadcrumbs.
They need to be deep-fried to stay together.

I have been looking for the same recipe for years. My "pretend" Grandmother who lived next door to us made them every Sunday (Italian tradition we were told) and always sent two over to the little girls next door. They were made out of ground beef (no sausage!) so I'm pretty sure that the scotch ball that everyone is referring to is not it. Plus Grandma's meatballs were not deep fried. Any other ideas?
