I got a recipe for Fry Bread online, and it says that I need shortening. Is there anything else I can use besides that? Like cooking oil? Thanx for any help.

I help cook fry bread for about 300 two times a year for a couple of Native American Indian tribes and shortening has a little different flavor but I generally just use vegetable oil to fry in. It will be ok.
