I need some “recipes” for a good fruit smoothie. Something I can make with bananas, blueberries, peaches, strawberries etc. I need to know how much of each to put in.
I also want to add some things like pomegranate, acai and goji (and whatever else is high in anti-oxidants or is good for a person with diabetes). Where can I get acai and goji?
I’m open to suggestions.

You could put 1/4 cup of each type of fruit, and since you’re diabetic I would say using acai juice, which may be found at a health food store would be a good option, use that and maybe some soy-milk? Depending on how big you want your smoothie, you could use anywhere from 8-12 ounces of liquid. And either use a scoop of sorbet or plain yogurt. Good luck!

I typically use 6 oz. (small container) of sugar-free yogurt (vanilla or berry flavors work great). Add on top of that whichever berries you wish….. I find that either a variety of berries, strawberry-banana, or strawberry-peach are very good flavors. I dump in at least a cup of fruit (more depending on how big you want it to be), and use enough juice and ice to make it the right consistency. If you’re having trouble blending it — add more juice.

Here are some excellent recipes that you can make at home. Most are geared towards weight loss, so just substitute the skim milk for regular and the fat-free yogurt for regular, if weight loss isn’t your goal. Enjoy!
