How long do liquors remain drinkable (such as vodka, brandy, and rum)?

November 10th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I found an assortment of liquor in my mother’s house. Some of them are fairly high-quality and/or imported. I’m not sure how old they are, but they could be 20 years or more. Possibly up to 40!

Are they still fine to drink? Does it matter if the bottles have been opened or not?

Thanks!

If they have never been opened, most of them will last decades or more. Exceptions would include Kahlua or any cream liquor.

Vodka and Whisky will last virtually forever if never opened. If opened or ajar, the alcohol will evaporate and gain off flavors

      They can last forever.
