I keep seeing the stereotype here about Americans and fast food (especially Americans and their supposed love affair with McDonalds). I am American, and my husband and I cook practically every meal at home; I even take leftovers from home to eat for lunch at work.
We may eat out once a month or less, and it is never fast food; it it usually seafood we eat when we go out.
In my opinion, home cooking is so much better.

We eat at home most of the time. I eat fast food 1-2 times a week. We also get Japanese or go to a nice restuarant 1-2 times a month. My problem is that I hate to cook.

Yes ma'am I agree, home cooking is so much better. We should all eventually maintain a mini garden at home (if we can) because the fruits and veggies in the store are starting to lose it's quality.

Oh, and the meats…don't get me started on the meats. Ugh! I'm considering going vegetarian.

I agree - home cooking is much better, but I do all the cooking in my house and sometimes I just don't feel like cooking. When I don't cook, we usually order Chinese (about twice a month) or I'll buy a publix or Winn Dixie chicken for dinner. We usually only get drive through fast food when i'm out with the kids and they get hungry (about 3x a month for lunch only).

Maybe 2 or 3 times a week. It's sad. That's why our country is the most unhealthy in the world.

We usually take the kids to McDonald's about once a month as a treat. Other than that we rarely eat out (whether it's ordering pizza/Chinese, or going to an actual restaurant, whether fast food or full service). We're a family of four living on one income (husband is a full time college student AND a full time stay at home dad) and we really just don't have the money to eat out. Plus, I'm a darn fine cook if I do say, and I LOVE to cook, so we eat in 99% of the time.
