what kinds of seasonings do you add to your pasta? I have some people comming over in a few days for lunch and want to make a simple pasta and probably a salad too. I’m planning on using olive oil and garlic on the pasta but what else is good on it? I never make it this way, I usually just throw some tomato sauce on it, i find the olive oil and seasonings are much tasier. any suggestions?

you might want to try italian seasoning, which i believe is a blend of oregano, rosemary, thyme, black pepper, and maybe marjoram & a few other things. basil, sea salt, a few red pepper flakes, and fresh grated parmesan cheese are also great toppings for simple pasta. sounds great, enjoy!

Simple but very attractive and tasty recipe:
Put some olive oil in a pan and add two cloves of garlic chopped.
Let the garlic turn light golden brown and add a chopped onion.
Let the onions cook for 2 minutes on medium heat and then add a few whole baby tomatoes cut in half, some snap peas, a few slices of courgette and sliced mushroom, let that cook for another 2 to 3 minutes and season with salt, freshly crushed black pepper. When its ready throw in some sliced olives, tear up a few basil leaves and toss it up with the pasta, i usually do it with linguine. To serve sprinkle a bit of grated cheese over it, drizzle a bit of olive oil and a few chilli flakes add a great dimension to it at the very end.
Have Fun!
This is a winner with my family and great to make after an exhausting day at work when I just have no energy to make something fancy.

Cook your pasta as usual, if you want to give a little surprise to the sauce, in a 3/4 pan add olive oil, choped garlic, sliced mushrooms, choped green olives, and capers, let them cook until the mushrooms get soft, add your tomato sauce or marinara sauce, let it cook for a minute or two. try this salad, romain lettuce, strawberries, mozzarella cheese, red onions, lemon juice and a lite vinaigrette dressing; chop them all up, add some lemon juice, and the dressing toss it and you are ready to go… Let me know how it turns out.
