everytime me and my family go to a resteraunt and ask them to cut the spices, it's just no use. The waiters stand next to us to refill our glasses of water lol. I love it but why are hot spices that important? Anywayz, it's top….
Thanks.
Eric, the problem is that there is no dish without spices. I know that it's impossible to have it without spices because it is essential to their cooking and you can't tell people how to cook their food but I wish they would consider the non-spicy dishes. I didn't know that about spices. Thanks for the tip. I'll keep it in mind next time.

You just need to ask the waiter what dishes are less spicy. Not all are.
If you ask for Indian food without "spices" thats a pretty hard task, since spice blends are what compose most dishes, unless you want to order flatbread, maybe.
Don't worry, however, with time you will get used to the heat of many spices and will actually crave them. Black and red (cayenne) peppers are good for you, they stimulate your metabolism which keeps you thin.

Ask for some raita or minted yoghurt, mix it in this will cool it down

There are a bunch of yogert, flatbread and rice dishes that are meant to be mixed with the spicier meat dishes. (ie. a bite or two of the spicey stuff followed with a splash of the cool stuff) In alot of cases, water makes it burn more so avoid that.

I think you should avoid going to an indian rest.which has majority of their clientel indian because indian people on average like very spicy food but on the other hand there are many rest.where they make their food mild where their majority of customers are non-indian.Here in austin you will find star of india or clay-pit where u can find food reasonably less spicy than some other indian Rest.

Being as I am a big fan of Indian food and being that I was a chef in canada for 20yrs, not an Indian chef but cooked curry in some of the places, they use mainly fresh green chilis, and some dried red pepper flakes, a nice lassi is good also to tone done the heat.
Like on of the others said order lighter dishes, like Kofta a type of meat ball, Biriyani a rice dish, Tandoori Chicken or Butter Chicken, Fish dishes are a bit milder, raita is good for certain things.
Pilafs and vegetable dishes like Aloo Galo or Paneer dishes, dishes like eggplant and lentils will be hot because of them being stewed and the chili oils strengthening in the cooking

Are you only going to North Indian restaurants? Try South Indian for a change. They have some non-spicy options.
