The ich life cycle is like that of any other parasite, the adults fall off into the substrate and multiply, then the babies latch on the cycle repeats itself.

How to get rid of ich without drastic medications of much expense: use a salt bath. The website below explains how.

By raising the temp you will shorten the lifespan of the ich and get rid of it faster.

You can also use a copper sulfate medication to get rid of it in conjunction with the salt, they will only help each other.

No, they don’t fall off. If your fish have Ich, they will be rubbing up against rocks, and plants, and decorations, basically to scratch themselves. You should go to your pet store, and check with them if they have solutions, and treatment for Ich. You should do it quickly, as to not let it spread to your other fish.

PS: The best answers do not have to be the longest. Quality, not quantity, my friend.

    Belly has it,Sarah does not,lol.
Do what Belly says and you’ll be fine.Leave the lights off while treating for ich.The lights can make the meds less effective.Quick Cure is the best ich medicine,IMO.You can get it at most pet stores and even Wal Mart.It is cheap, and it works.Using salt with it is a good idea also.
