Is american food considered a delicacy in any other countries or cultures?
In foreign countries, does our cuisine sound appealing to them? After all we are a fairly recent country, and our mainstream food in my opinion would get laughed at in comparison

I'm not sure there really is an "american" cuisine. We have such a blend of other cultures and the only thing truly "american" is the cheeseburger!

Yeah, its hard to say really, there are allot of American restaurants over here in the UK. Some of the more expensive places in London, and larger cities in the UK, import American beef for their steaks and cook it in a specific way thats meant to be traditional in the US while you have family restaurants that serve only food from the deep south. I would say that some of the cooking from Louisiana other deep south states would be seen as a delicacy over here. Like the fried chicken, sweet potatoes (which arent nearly as common over here as white ones), seafood like catfish & mullet, corn and blackeyed peas, ribs with bbq sauce and jambalay.
