I like to drink red wine because it helps me sleep and because I’ve read that it’s good for you. Now, I know that drinking too much alcohol even if it’s red wine can be bad for your health. So, is it too much when you yourself are feeling tipsy, or when you reach a certain BAC level, or is there some other indicator? I only drink about half a wine glass of red wine after dinner.

As good as I can recall, it is based on BAC. This is why, partly, the recommended intake for men is higher than for women. In fact, it would be higher for heavier men than lighter men (and the same statement applies for women). Now, what that BAC level is exactly, I want to say 0.05, but I’m not exactly sure. Either way, you will probably need more than a half glass to get that BAC. Certainly if you don’t reach that level it isn’t harmful to you in the least bit. Where 0.08 is legally drunk, and well, it’s honestly not that drunk, you would probably notice 0.05 as a buzz more than tipsy. I recall 0.02 being the threshold of effect, meaning you wouldn’t feel anything less.

that’s fine. people get really hyper about alcohol. it’s been around forever, just dont overdo it, you will know when because it does not feel good
