if its home cooked indian, then it is SO good for you. if its takeout, then not so much.

Just like in any other culture, you can have good and bad Indian food. In America, one family may be eating fried chicken and french fries for dinner, while another family may be eating grilled chicken and salad.

The stuff you get in takeaway joints and in restaurants is horrible. It's just bucket after bucket of grease. Ew.

Homemade food is generally a LOT better. At our house, we don't use any grease at all (with only like… a drop of vegetable oil per dish, if even that) and it's REALLY healthy and good for you. But you do get the people who still chuck all the grease in it, even at home.

Chilli is bad, too! We don't use chilli at all at home, either.

But, yes, on the whole, homemade Indian food is supposed to be a lot healthier.
