Yes and no! Taking any medication while drinking will negate the effects of the drug. With that said, lexapro or any anti depressant will take about a month to take effect. So you should be ok within the first week, but I wouldn’t make a habit of it.

You shoulnd’t, but seeing as I have a bottle of it right infront of me, the only alcohol warning it has on it is “May cause drowsiness. Alcohol intensifies effect. Use care using machines”. But it’s not a great idea to drink WITH any medication

No medication such as lexapro should be taken when you are drinking. It is dangerous. Refrain from drinking but dont stop taking your medication

Probably not a good idea, especially since you are just starting it.

You should put off starting the Lexapro until after the party. Alcohol and Lexapro don’t work well together. Not only is Alcohol a depressant, but the Lexapro seems to amplify the effects of the Alcohol - and it won’t take nearly as much Alcohol to get you “tipsy”.

I take Wellbutrin SR (150 mg) in the morning, and Lexapro (10 mg) in the evening, for depression and anxiety. I’ve been taking that for over a year and a half, and it’s working very well for me. I do have an occasional drink, and found out (the “hard” way) not to drink a lot while on the Lexapro.
