is it safe to attach a mirror to the back of my piranha fish tank?

September 20th, 2008 · 4 Comments

i have a 30 gallon tank and just has a piece of glass custom cut to fit the back of my fish tank. i am about to purchase a gold spilo piranha or Serrasalmus Sanchezi… these are very aggressive fish and i was wondering if it would be safe to have the mirror on the back or will he hurt himself charging the glass?

that is ahard one…but he might think its another fish and try to interact with it…but i dont think it would hurt its self..

I’m sure it would be safe. It’s not like a male Betta that gets all riled up by the sight of another Male Betta. Piranha usually swim in schools.

i think that when a light is on top of the aquarium the glass becomes reflective from the inside so its like a mirror anyway, but mirrors will be noticable for us
