We must take in some sort of calcium containing product and milk is one of the best.
I have been trying my doctor’s idea of a nearly fat free food plan for the past 3 months. My glucose control has gone all the way to hades and so has my scale!
I have gained about 25 pounds from having to take more insulin to get around the slow down that fats do for carb control.
So I will be returning to butter, whole milk, cheeses, and ice cream and the doctor can take her ideas of diet with her to hades as well.
well milk’s good for everyone! we all need calcium from some source or another. but diabetics have to remember that milk also contains carbohydrates in the form of lactose, and they must take insulin to cover it!!
Milk isn't any good for anything but baby cows. As far as the calcium nonsense goes, there are plenty of superior sources available. Also, there's a pile of evidence that indicates that milk very likely CAUSES diabetes. Read these and you'll see what I mean: http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2007nl/feb/whenfriendsask.htm

It does have sugar, so I guess you would have to test your sugar after it.
