If I were to ever leave New Mexico, I honestly believe I would miss the food most. No other state or country I've visited has Mexican food quite as yummy as New Mexico… including Mexico itself.
I'm actually somewhat curious about what exactly makes "New Mexican" food different from other Mexican food.

hey I'm moving back to NM for just that reason!!! (well, I miss the landscapes and big skies too.) It is wonderful food– I mostly look forward to the green chile. . . stuffed sopaipillas. . . yum

When you find out, let me know. I've lived in CA for a long time. I went to Birmingham, Alabama for a visit and had the best Mexican food in my life. Go figure.

Dude, you don't know what real Mexican food is unless you have lived in Mexico. Trust me. I lived there for two years.

We (New Mexico) have the best food because of our GREEN CHILE that you can't get in any other state. That's also what make New Mexico food different from Mexican food. At least that's what I think.

Maybe it is just pride in one's state. I live in Texas and prefer what we have here to the kind in other places.
