Is there a way to do a beer can chicken in the crock-pot?

I used a very small mason jar and poured some beer around the bottom as well. It turned out really yummie!!

I would not suggest using the “can” method in the crockpot, because crockpots cook at a lower temperature, and may not get the beer hot enough to boil up and give you the effect you are looking for. Instead, put the chicken in the pot, and pour beer over it.

It will not come out exactly the same, but will still be good.

Trish has a good point, but I think you can do it on high if you can get an old Crock Pot that only heats on the bottom. My old one was a hand-me-down that had to be put to rest, but Goodwill is a great place to find that sort of thing. If you can handle the risk of second hand appliances, go for it!

I’d just pour the beer in and do it that way. I think you’ll get a “tinny” taste from the can if you try to do it that way. Good luck!
