I’ve recently purchased a Twinings Tea Chest for the office and am looking for something similar to store coffee.

Get a glass coffee pot and fill it with your beans, I’ve seen it done and it was very effective.

The best thing would be a dark glass container, kept in a cool place. The lid should be one that fights really tightly, like some candy disk lids, that lock in place.
Coffee almost needs to be kept hermetically sealed to preserve freshness for any length of time.

any decorative vessel should do fine, so long as it is air-tight and opaque.
air and light harm the quality and flavor of coffee beans over time. since you have a tea chest already, why not pick something that matches/coordinates while meeting the practical criteria? : )
