I had problems with a bottle, the propane filling station man said do not open valve all the way at first ,it can cause a problem with the safety valve in the bottle , open a little ,light grill ,slowley open more .
OH, GOOD LORD…DON'T TROW AWAY YOUR GRILL…! ITS PROBABLY A SIMPLE FIX. YOU MAY BE LOW ON GAS OR MAYBE THE LINES ARE BLOCKED. YOU CAN TAKE THE TANK TO A PROPANE DEALER OR WHERE YOU GET FUEL FOR IT AND ASK THEM AND HAVE IT CHECKED THERE. A HARDWARE STORE MAY BE A PLACE YOU CAN ASK ABOUT IT, TOO.

buy a new grill or replace the pipes or other components in case there is a block

You should not be using a gas grill. They make food taste bad. Get rid of it. Cook over wood coals. Half green cottonwood work well.
