The only way to find out is to call customer service, but I wouldn’t see why not, it should still be under warranty.

You probably got a refurbished (rebuilt) phone you should bring it back to Verizon and demand a new phone don’t take no for an answer because the customer is always right. I mean it doesn’t sound like you broke the phone it sounds defective so they should give you a new one.
