My period stopped since I went vegetarian and I don’t know if it is coincidence?

Well, around four months ago I had stopped eating meat, and my period just has not come back since then,Maybe it is irony, I don’t know if this has anything to do with it. Any help is appreciated.

No, it can happen. Are you anemic? Are you taking supplement or substituting the foods/nutrients you now don’t get through meat with something else? Re-evaluate your diet.

that happened to my friend when she became a vegan, but it came back.

i'm also a vegetarian, but i've been one (basically) my whole life so my body didn't have to go through the transition period of eating meat to not eating it

if you're a teenager, it could just be normal puberty

not a coincidence at all. You changed your eating which messed you up. I hope you are taking vitamins.

Quite likely to be a lack of iron, esp if you’re getting tired a lot. Or it could be your body getting used to a change of diet, it might come back once you readjust.
Might be worth a trip to the doc though!

It is hard to say. Being vegetarian should not cause it, provided you are eating a balanced diet. So you need to look at how you are eating. Are you getting enough protein? fats? nutrition as a whole? Of course the most common cause of not menstruating is pregnancy, so you should consider that also. There are also several other causes of not menstruating, you should go to your doctor as soon as you can.

Go to your doctor. I believe that your beliefs are your own, but you need the supplements that meat gives you. You may be anemic since you’re not getting enough iron from meat, aka none. Go to your doctor, explain the situation. It may be something else, but it’s most likely just that the hormones in your body are acting up against the meatless diet. Also, if you’re sexually active there’s always a chance of pregnancy. Go to a doctor and see what they say. ~ace~

    could you possibly be pregnant?

It’s most likely because you aren’t getting proper nutrition. A lot of vegatarians are anemic.

If you insist on a vegatarian diet, you need to take special care to get all your nutrients, you might need to take supliments.

A girl needs almost twice the amount of iron that a boy does because of our periods. We lose iron when we lose that blood, so our body needs a lot of iron. If we don’t have enough iron, we don’t have enough blood to start our periods. It’s not that serious. It’s normal sometimes, actually. You can take iron supplements, or just eat any other foods that give you iron.
