My Red Potato Plants are Dying?

July 6th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I'm growing Red Potatoes in my garden and they were thriving, Today I looked at them and they are looking spindley and the leaves are yellow. There are also some holes that have been eaten into the leaves. What the heck is wrong? Is it too late. I also have some daisies that have been eaten away. Thanks for you help, Jeff in Idaho

treat the soil. besides you having a problem with bugs you should check your local home and gardening chain to see if they'll help you with a good product that won't harm the atmosphere.

The first year I grew potatoes, I got all frantic when the plants wilted & looked sick. I called the place I bought them from & emailed photos. I was like a little plant mommy with a sick nursery!

Then, with no help from the teenager at the other end of the phone, I figured it out. The potatoes were ready to eat! Pull one out of the ground & see how big it is. Especially red potatoes, you can eat them small (new potatoes). Yum.
