My parakeet laid 5 eggs… the first 2 never hatched, the third one just did yesterday, and we have two more left. I candled the eggs the other day and two looked fertile. I woke up this morning to find my female zoey pushed one egg to the other side of the nest box. does this mean thats a bad egg or may it be good?

I bred and raised parakeets for about five years and found that no matter how tame they are, they don't appreciate having your hands in their nest box, so be careful! My birds mostly pushed eggs out when there were too many babies for another to fit, or when the egg was old or bad. I don't know how they tell, or if the eggs really are bad since obviously they won't hatch after being shoved out. If she shoved the egg out though, trust her judgment and just get rid of it for her! and enjoy your little peepers!
