my parakeet layed an egg over the weekend i wanted her too and now do i need to do anything i saw on youtube they checked if the egg is good so do i need to do anything and in about how long do i expect a baby bird?

If you do not have a male in with her, her egg will not hatch, nor will it hatch if it was layed outside the nesting box and got cold even if a male is in with her.

If there is no male, it won't hatch, but whatever you do, don't take the egg away. she will try to lay more if you take it away, and she will run out of calcium needed and the eggs will get stuck on their way out(also called egg binding) it can kill you bird
