O.K. I am kind of new to the vegetarian thing…
I have been researching about eggs and I am getting different answers. I know Vegans dont eat eggs but Vegetarians do, what I dont understand is, if we left that egg under that chicken, and she laid on it like she is suppose to, it would turn into a baby chicken. The answers about eggs I have seen were “The egg is unfertilized” How do you now that though, how do you know that if she laid on it it wouldnt become a living animal? Since I have become vegetarian I have not ate eggs b/c I still feel like its not right.
Prolly has a common sense answer but I’m still gonna ask it.
P.S. I dont need any BS answers about NOT being a vegetarian either. I am one and I’m damn proud of it and its none of your business!! If you dont liek it then dont reply to this.
K Thanks guys!

chickens lay eggs even if they havent “been” with a rooster …… it takes a rooster to make the eggs be with baby chicks … so if no rooster then no “living” egg

I think the hens are kept seperate from the male chickens in an egg farm. With no contact from the male chickens, the hens lay eggs that won’t hatch chicks.

It’s like when a human female ovulates (releases and egg) every month only chickens do it every day. If the egg is not fertilized then it will not turn into a chicken. If a human egg is not fertilized it will not become a baby.

if you want to be a vegetarian than do so and if you think eating eggs are wrong then dont eat them and dont worry what other people think ,but it is not worth the argument

An egg needs to be fertilized by the sperm of a rooster or it will never become a chick. Egg farms do not have any males because they kill all of the males right after they are born. They can't lay eggs so they are considered garbage.
Egg farms are extremely cruel even if they are called "cage free" or "free range". The only eggs that are acceptable to eat are those from your own chickens or someone that has chickens as a hobby or pets.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

It may help if you see proof that vegetarian people have the same potential as anyone else.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise?

Hens, that lay eggs, are not asexual.
They need to mate before they lay eggs for the eggs to come out fertilized.
Like when a girl ovulates, if she doesn’t have sex the egg passes.
If she does it grows into a chick and then comes out - but w/ a chicken it just grows in the egg outside the mother.
Egg factorys only keep females around because they don’t want fertilization and have no need for the males other than to make more female chickens.

its up to you whether or not you eat eggs. In the egg industries, males are killed while still chicks, so there is no way that eggs can be fertilized, and so no matter how long the chicken sat on the egg, there would be no chick developing. The industry is cruel though, so it is up to you whether or not to support it. If you do eat eggs, try to go free range! (males are still killed so no egg will become a chick)
Either way, you are not eating an unborn chicken when you buy eggs.

It’s fine to eat eggs, unless you only want to eat foods that are packed with minerals, vitamins, phyto-nutrients and poly-phenols, then stick with plants.
I won’t hold it against you if you eat cheese, drink cow’s milk or eat eggs but they’re not the most optimal form of nutrition and don’t have anti-bacterial properties that’ll keep them from going rotten in your intestinal track before defecation.
keep in mind foods that don’t spoil within 24-48hours won’t spoil in your digestive track.
Like have eggs with hot sauce and you’ll do fine.
But have a good mix, more vegetables and fruits and you should be fine.

There are annoying trend of argument when a vegetarian shopping in a McD for french fries, or someone invited him for steamboat. Their mind should pretty much determine how the eggs are being "pocked out", and how the "animal juice" is being extracted!
* “You say you’re vegetarian because you don’t like hurting animals, but you’re wearing leather. You’re a hypocrite!”
* “How can you eat eggs if you don’t eat meat? It’s the same thing! The “egg chickens” are just as mistreated as the “eating chickens” at the big chicken-factory ranches. The egg has all the attributes, genes and elements from her mother, scientifically”
* “You know that cheese you’re eating has just as much bovine growth hormone in it as my steak does. Being vegetarian doesn’t make a bit of difference!”
