Rice milk vs. organic milk? What is better for a diet to lose weight?

July 25th, 2008 · 9 Comments

I'm confused. I've always heard that switching to rice or soy milk is much better for you than milk. But soy has more fat and rice has nearly twice as many calories? And what about organic milk? Is that better?

Thanks, I'm so cofused ahhaha.

I LOVE silk chocolate soy milk. It's so much healthier than cows milk and tastier too. Eat more fruits and veggies, less meat proteins and more proteins from yogurt, soy, beans, and nuts.

Soy milk is very good you. you can get it with lowered fat, but the fat in it is not bad for you.
      Rice milk is BS.

I've read many articles that soy is bad for you, from infertility and hormone problems to even dementia…

Then I've also read articles stating how it's all a myth and blah, blah, blah…. But then I have to think "are these people just trying to protect the soy industry or a health food movement"? (since there aren't many protein sources as alternatives to meat other than soy)

      So I stopped consuming it…

Here's one of the articles of how it can be bad for you:

I drink milk (organic is best…) and I also drink "Almond Milk" as an alternative to soy milk (they even make chocolate almond milk which tastes soooooo good)…

Oooooh, you should try almond milk! It's less calories than soy and rice but still tastes really good. And even soy milk and rice milk should be less calories than real milk…Plus there are more nutritional values. And organic IS better, but it won't really hurt you if you don't buy organic. The thing about organic is that it doesn't have nearly as many chemicals (I think it might have none, actually,) and it's much better for the environment.

I agree with the other posters regarding almond milk. The unsweetened almond milk is soooo good and ridiculously low in calories.

Soy milk has 30% calcium, the SAME as organic milk. Soy milk also has less calories, the SAME as 2% organic milk. I dont know about rice milk, i would like to try it. But Soy milk is obviously better than regualr organic milk. Same amount of calcium but less calories.
