I'm sorry, you were informed incorrectly. Male and females should not be housed together. You need to seperate the male from the females immediantly. The male will need to be kept with the eggs so that he may tend to them for the next few days, the females may not be housed with them. After that, he will also need to be removed and that's when your work begins.
If you have the money and six months to devote to the high level of care the fry require, I've provided link to a sheet on raising betta fry.

Also check out the Betty Splendens link I provided, that site has a lot of info on raising fry.

styx is right about the housing! the male will get over protective and kill your females if you dont get them out! and they will eat the babies and the eggs so remove them! anyway yea thats all I wanted to say..hope I helped…

anything you do will bother the nest you can try useing a peice of tubing to siphon some water out and add some fresh water but that is about it the water is cloudy because the bowl is cycling in the future do not wash or rince the gravel

Hurry and remove the females and transfer them to another tank.you can leave the male there for a while. If you want to clean the tank, take a bit of the water(leave some water left in the tank)and replace it with clean water.after a few days, remove the male and leave the eggs to hatch. If you leave the male there,he will eat the eggs up.I used to rear 20 bettas and this happened to me too.hope you find my info useful..

Yes, it is possible to have male and female together… .But there is a possibility that they will mate.
Just carefully remove the female betta for now. and read up more on feeding betta fry
