Should I put salad dressing on a salad I'm bringing to a barbecue, or leave it in the bottle on the side?

The salad is mixed greens, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella cubes. The dressing is store-bought. Should I put the dressing on the salad before hand or leave it in the bottle on the side?

Leave it on the side until ready to serve. Otherwise the lettuce may wilt and lose its crunch

Dont put the dressing on soe people wont want it and depending on how long it takes to get there it will soggy up the salad. let people put it on if they want it.

Keep them separate, if you put it on the salad it will go limp.

i think you might want to bring a few different types of salad dressing and leave them on the side so people can choose their own

leave it on the side

I would leave it in the bottle, at the very least until just before serving. Otherwise the salad tends to get soggy.

leave it on the side until you are ready to serve it. Otherwise, the dressing will make the lettuce soggy and gather in the bottom of the bowl.

on the side not every one likes dressing

Leave it on the side because some people may not want any ranch, and the lettuce might get soggy with the ranch all over it.

Have fun.

On the side for two reasons.
1) Some people like more or less then what you put on.
2) It can spoil in the heat and make the veggies soft.
Keep dressing on ice.

Leave It On The Side
It Might Make The Appearance Of The Salad Less Desirable
Or Some People Might Not Like Dressing

You should put it on the side because not everyone like ranch dressing.

Bring the bottle and add it later. The salad will wilt in the dressing if you do it ahead. Although, if you have a giant tupperware bowl, you could put the dressing in the bottom, then the tomato, cheese and lettuce on top. Put the top on and when you're ready to serve it, shake the covered bowl really well.

Leave the salad dressing on the side for the reasons people have already stated. Also, do not mix the tomatoes into the salad - serve them separately as not everyone can eat raw tomatoes or food that has touched raw tomatoes thus preventing them from enjoying your wonderful salad. There have been many times that I have been unable to enjoy salad that someone has made because they put raw tomatoes in/on it - I am deathly allergic to them.
