Simple American food someone from another country might not know of?

July 3rd, 2008 · 6 Comments

I'm writing a little story, about an American 3 year old that gets sent to live with there dad in another country for whatever reason.. and i was trying to think of some type of food, that the kid wants, but the dad being from another country doesn't know what it is. you know what i mean? Any suggestions? Preferably something thats actually simple to make. like peanut butter and jelly, but well obviously thats self explanatory. but maybe something along those lines. Any ideas?
Great answers so far thanks!
Im kind of thinking grilled cheese would be funny.. he could put a slice of cheese in a frying pan and try to fry it. lol

I was origonally trying to think of something he couldn't just look up online as well.. which makes it a great deal more complicated.
