I tend to get emotional when I drink sometimes. Rum tends to work best for me. I usually go for the cheapest. I’m wondering if a better quality rum would provide a fun, friendly buzz minus the tears and anger. Any suggestions?

Captain Morgan is always a favorite of mine. It has a great taste and is fairly inexpensive without being cheap. You could also get some Malibu for mixing with; it’s also fairly inexpensive with good flavor, but I’m not as much of a fan of it by itself. Buy both and keep them on your shelf; mix both together with coke and have a nice, buzzed, anger-free evening.

I’m sorry to burst your bubble but the quality of the booze isn’t going to help the way you act under the influence that is a personal problem that malibu or barcardi or captain M. cant fix ..

Pyrat XO Reserve…It has a wonderful orange-like flavor to it and a nice alcohol burn. I prefer mine with a splash of OJ or an orange wedge.
Not only is it wonderful tasting, but at $20-$30 a bottle it has beat out much more expensive rums in taste contest.

And please…stay away from crap like Captain Morgan and Sailor Jerry. Those are the rum equivalent of McDonald's hamburgers.
PS.
All alcohol be it liquors like rum or beer or even wine all contain the exact same thing…ethanol. Your emotional issues are a lot deeper than the drink you are consuming. Ethanol Alcohol is just a mood enhancer…not a mood alterer.

No, the tears and anger are a side effect of the alcohol, not the flavorings in the rum. Maybe you should try figuring out what it is that makes you get that way when you’ve been drinking?
If you like rum, I recommend getting Bacardi 151, watering it down to your taste, and then spicing it yourself. It’s cheaper per unit of alcohol than other stuff, and once it’s been spiced it tastes okay.

Try Lambs Navy Rum - it’s been around for years. yeah and cheap alcohol is just full of crap and badly filtered alcohol - so u are better off paying out a little more.
Also a fav is Morgans Spice! real nice with lemonade and doesn’t have throat burning after effect.

The quality of the rum won’t make a difference on how you act/feel when you’re drunk. But it might go down smoother! I usually go with Captain Morgan.

Rum ain’t the answer,
Gin will make you sin.
Whiskey rocks your world
Vodka is a nice whiskey/gin sub.
Expand your tastes dear!

Alcohol is alcohol. the effect you receive will be about the same. You should be looking for taste. One’s taste buds dictate this. Under the rum, I loke the darker ones, darker the better.
Bacardi special is a favorite of mine, as is Pyrate’s, and Pussers.
I like these straight, with or without ice. I also like them if I am having tonic with it.
I do not care for spiced run, i. e. Capt’n Morgan’s and the like. They have added extras beyond good rum.
Again, it is your taste buds (and brain cells) at stake.

For price and good flavor, whether drinking it straight or mixed, I recommend Captain Morgan’s Private Stock. All the other Captain Morgans are pretty bad, but Private Stock is nice stuff.

My parents own a liquor store here in Georgia and I find that we sell a lot of Bacardi Superior (called also clear, white, light). It is favorite of a very close friend, and I find it is easiest for me to drink with Pepsi. The acid in Coke-Cola bothers me.
We carry about ten companies’ rums, so, yeah. Bacardi is the one flying off the shelf most.
