This is gonna sound stupid, but should I boil the water first?

November 9th, 2008 · 28 Comments

Last night some idiot decided that he was gonna dig up the main water line for my city, so the water was off all night and half of today. We are under a boil water advisory since the water now has dirt in it. I’m making noodles for dinner, so should I boil the water before I put the noodles in even though its gonna be boiled anyway? I feel like an idiot, but I don’t know what to do! Thanks =)
He really did dig it up! and I have considered going to his house, but thought better of it =)

Once you boil it, put the salt in it and then the pasta. It’s already boiled anyway !

Yes, and then pour the boiled water into a clean pan. Can pour through coffee filter to be sure no sediments transfer to clean pan. If you do not boil the water first, the contaminants will boil into the noodles.
