  chicken,..because with out the chicken there would be no egg, if the egg came first there would be no chicken to fertilize it and take care of it, thus the chicken must have come first.

  I believe the Dinosaurs came first because some people say that a chicken evolved from the Dinosaurs also that some early amphibians evolved into some normal animals of today

  it had to be the chicken, the egg would not have been able to hatch without the chicken and someone would have probably found it and made egg on toast.

  Jesus came first and always will. There was nothing before Jesus. The world started when the Holy Father said let there be light and He created the world for Jesus. There were no dinosaurs and no evolution everything is Jesus and only Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. So if Jesus says the egg came first it did. If Jesus days the chicken came first it did. And if those who wrote the gospels cannot agree then I guess we’ll never know. Coz scientists know nothing .. if its not in the Bible it must be false. Let me go ask the talking serpent lol

  Oddly enough, it would have had to be the chicken. If you think about the way in which successful mutations are passed onto offspring, it would have had to be accident that a chick was born with a protective covering (maybe not the egg we know today,) and that somehow this caused an increased amount of fortitude for the animal. Through further iterations of natural selection, it can be assumed that chickens were thereby able to successfully lay their young in enclosed cases instead of through live birth.

  However, this is oversimplification since reptiles, amphibians, and fish were laying down eggs long before we had anything to compare the taste of strange food to.

  that question, my friend, is a philosophical question that can never have a definite answer. it’s everyone and his opinion. it is controversial because some would ask: “if the egg comes first, from where did it come?” it had to be laid by the chicken. others would ask: “if the chicken comes first, from where did it come?”

  it’s like asking: what comes first, the thought or the word?
  or: are we really seeing with our eyes or with our brain?

  these philosophical questions do not have definite answers

  God first created a man & a woman. So, “technically” He certainly created a Hen and a Cock… whichever way u see; b’cos… it takes a living thing of the same type, but of 2 different genders, to start an off-spring… so its definitely the “Chicken”(plural & leastwise one of each gender).

  The egg. Most likely an animal similar to but not yet a chicken laid one or more eggs that hatched into the chicken “anomoly,” or a close proximity thereof. . Probably the original animal became extinct, but the chicken managed to evolve enough to survive and go on to create billionaires out of the Sanders and Perdue families. Heh.

  The egg. For evolution to be a viable theory, two related species would need to mate to produce what we would now call the chicken. No egg, no chicken.

  The egg that became you was here before you came into existence. There is no reason to re-write nature.

  When we can find a human who becomes an egg then we will have reason to revisit the question.

  Religion: The chicken came first, because God put it on Earth. Then the chicken layed the egg.

  Science: The egg came first, because a close relative of the chicken layed an egg with a mutated version of itself. This mutation produced the first chicken.

  A better question would be, “Which do you believe, religion or science?”
