Hi guys.
I've been a vegetarian for about 7 years now and I have recently found out some bad info.
I'm very pro animals, so i have never really eaten meat and i thought that was enough.
However, I found out Panera actually uses BEEF broth for their french onion soup and also, that marshmallows are made from gelatin (basically cow cartiledge and bones)
what else can i not eat?

Bloody hell! I have to read the back of everything I buy and have done for years, I suggest you do the same, rather than expect someone to list the thousands of things you can't eat, So many things contain gelatin, rennet etc.
Edit: Skittles do not contain gelatin. Really people, educate yourselves properly before preaching and claiming authority on a subject.

dont eat jello, starbursts,
[cant think of any others, aha.]
or anything with gelatin.
most of paneras soup use chicken or beef broth,
you can eat the vegetable or black bean soup.

Well Panera does have the vegetarian vegetable soup and black bean soup, so next time you know. A lot of the gummy candies (like skittles and sour patch kids) also have gelatin. Parmasan cheese has rennet in it (cow stomach =|). Some places cook their french fries in the same oil as they cook their chicken, so watch out for that.

there are books that you can buy that tell you what's in typical food.
i was a veggie for 8 years and i learned the broths and hidden ingredients in things the first year. Not sure why you didn't research it sooner but to each his own.
ALL french onion soup is made with beef broth. And then many other soups are made with chicken broth or beef broth as well.
Unless you go to a vegan restaurant they obviously use substitutes.
Usually there's going to be little to nothing you can eat when it comes to fast food. and with quick dining like panera or even fine dining all you have to do before ordering is ask if there's meat products in the ingredients or if they use animal stock in their soups, and then you can order accordingly.
not sure where you live but there are some excellent veggie and vegan restaurants out there along with grocery stores geared to veggies and healthy living i.e: mother's
good luck

you really have to read up on anything you eat. your best bet is to try to find mostly vegan foods. by the way all french onion soup has beef broth. most soups have some sort of animal stock.

…you've been a vegetarian for 7 years and you just learned about gelatin??
A lot of cheese contains animal rennet, aka calf stomach.

I hate to say it, but be annoying.
When you're purchasing something, read the ingredient labels religiously. (carmic acid/carmine = red food dye from cochneal (sp?), so that's one non-obvious thing to read.)
When in restaurants/cafes, confirm with the waiter cashier that the food is vegetarian, then add that it doesn't contain any seafood/fish, and if you're avoiding eggs/milk/honey, add that to the confirmation. If they don't know, ask them to check, and mention that you tip heavily, so they'll be more willing to do so with a smile. TIP HEAVILY.
Once you re-establish your confidence in what to eat, then you don't have to be as annoying. If you don't know if something is veg, be safe and don't eat it. Also, if you're going to a party and not sure if they'll have a veg option, eat ahead, then go, so you won't starve, and you can actually be ok with having just a salad (pet peeve, a salad never fills anyone up). <–sorry for the OT rant.

Well Panera never claimed the french onion was vegetarian! Look next to the soups and if you see a V then it is vegetarian.
