The concept of egg already contains the concept of chicken and vice versa. I have read an aphorism saying: the chicken is the egg's method of reproduction. The truth is that both of them has a history going back to millions of years ago, when there was no type of reproduction except cell multiplication, which evolved into more complex creatures including chicken.

The egg came before the chicken, but "what come first", came before the egg and chicken in your sentence.
