I presume you’re talking about the American Music Club song lyrics. I’ve looked into it, and since the next line in the song says “later they’ll say ‘what a miracle,’” my best educated guess is that it’s a half-hearted allusion to Jesus’ first recorded miracle: turning the water into wine at a local wedding feast.
But it looks to me like the artist didn’t want to bother to make the metaphor a complete one.
