What exactly is rice gruel? and how do I make it?

My mother has gastritis and I was reading some remedies. One is rice gruel. I understand it it like porridge but does that mean I just cook the rice less? Or do I add more liquid to it? Thanks in advance.

      rice gruel is the liquid you have cooked rice in. I had to give this to my daughter when she had diarrhea- you cook rice in a little extra water and when the rice is done you pour off the liquid and in my case I had to give it to her in her bottle.
