I have cheese, milk, canned tomatoes, some vegetables, spices, and a few other things. I still have time to run out and grab things but I need to know what ASAP.
Whats a simple pasta sauce i can make with things you could find in your pantry?

I always make a meat gravy but today I didn't have everything so I tried this and it was awesome
extra virgin olive oil about 5 tablespoons
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
1 large can of peeled tomatoes
basil
salt
pepper
2 pkg of equal (instead of sugar)
I fried the garlic on low for a few minutes and added everything else, stirred and covered on med low for 10 minutes….I swear this was the best marinara i ever had.

Get onions and garlic, for sure. I would make a red sauce with the canned tomatoes, chop up onions and garlic, add spices like basil, oregano, parsley, and maybe even add in some chopped/sauteed veggies.
You can get some ground turkey or ground beef to brown up & add into the sauce as well.
You could make a creamy sauce with the milk & cheese, but they are a little more complicated.

Diced green bell peppers, sliced onions, chopped garlic, sliced mushrooms, and stewed or diced (canned) tomatoes make a great sauce. Some folks like it thicker. If you do, add a can or two of tomato paste. First, toss all the non-tomato vegetation into the pan with a little olive oil (or grease of your choice) and saute them. When they are soft, add the tomato stuff of your choice. Add oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.
Some folks like to add browned ground meat to this. If you like, go right ahead. Serve over pasta with a sprinkling of cheese.

You can mix the canned tomatoes with a little basil and garlic salt, then add your noodles and veggies. If you have chicken that would be good too if you cooked it up in a little olive oil. Then mix it all together in a casserole dish, top with cheese and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. I do stuff like that all the time and its always yummy.

You are probably done with dinner already but I like to take a thinly sliced onion , saute in olive oil, when the onion is translucent, with the heat on high, add a 1/4 cup vodka (if you have it or want to, the alcohol will cook off). Then add a can of tomatoes with their juice and a clove or two of minced garlic, add salt and pepper. Cook on medium high until the juice from the tomatoes has reduced and thickened. When it’s nice and thick reduce the heat and add 1/4 or so cup of milk (I do prefer cream if you had it). Add parsley, dried if you have it just to make it pretty. You’ve made a quick and easy vodka sauce, really good with rigatoni or penne. You should have dinner on the table in 15 minutes from start to finish.
