What would you call american food? Its always considered being from another country Italian, Chineese, Mexican or whatever else. Whats American or do we only have the "hot dog" of left over processed meats?

Fried chicken BBQ anything, Steak, hot dogs hamburgers, Apple pie, pumpkin pie, the list is never ending. I think that North Americans are the only people that eat corn on the cob as a summer time "must have"

its hard considering something as an american food cuz everything comes from all over
